In January and February, the Red Cross is sponsoring the Battle of the Badges pitting police and fire agencies against each other to see who can recruit the most people to give blood.

You can choose which agency you'd like to support by giving blood at a specific date and place...here's the link for scheduled blood drives:

Everyone who gives blood will get a t-shirt, coupon for a free appetizer at Mimi's Cafe, and a voucher for two free Clippers tickets. To redeem the Clippers vouchers, you will have to pay a $5/ticket processing fee. So, they're not totally free, but $5 for a ticket isn't bad.
